Conferences

ADSE is involved with regional, state, and national conferences which support the need for special education programming in private and parochial schools. Whether we are presenting a session or attending as an exhibitor, we welcome the opportunity to meet. ADSE is currently providing virtual conferences through ACSI Nexis. Watch for future conference offerings.

Summer Institute

During the summer months, ADSE takes an active stance in developing effective summer seminars to empower and educate private and parochial school educators in the development of special education programs & serving children with special needs. The effectiveness of our summer institute is assured through three months of virtual mentoring. ADSE will support, sustain and extend your professional development through the use of their Communication Chalkboard.

  • Remote live streaming webinar June 24 – 27. Attendance is from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM Pacific Time, Monday through Thursday. You will be able to attend the summer institute from your home. Cost $350.00
  • A video recording of the live remove webinar which will be available during the month of August to view at your convenience. Cost $299.00.

Online Courses

Alternative Designs for Special Education, in partnership with Fresno Pacific University, is proud to offer Online Courses which will empower private and public school educators. Through Fresno Pacific University’s Center for Professional Development educators can receive the needed professional growth hours to renew their teaching credentials and licenses. For educators who teach for an ACSI school, these courses are ACSI approved.

Regional Seminars

To assist school communities in their efforts of supporting children with special needs, ADSE presents seminars on varying topics throughout the country. Please contact us if you would like to host a regional seminar.

The federal special education law, Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, provides guidelines for children placed in Christian schools by their parents. However, many Christian school administrators and educators do not know the rights of their families. This 90 minute workshop will empower you so that you can assist parents in having their child tested through the public schools and will assist you in developing a professional relationship with your public school administrators.

Learn about:

  • Child Find: What is the public school’s obligation to my school, students, and parents?
  • Testing: How do parent request testing for their child?
  • Timelines: How quickly must the public school respond to the parent’s request?
  • Services: What services may or may not be available to my students?
  • Your role: What is my role in the process?
  • Due Process: Do my parents have any?
  • Funding: How do I train my staff in meeting the needs of my students?

Communication Chalkboard – Additional $25.00

In addition to the face to face seminar, ADSE provides an optional 30 days of support following the seminar. Through our virtual communication chalkboard, we are able to answer your questions while supporting you in implementing the information you have learned. In addition, you will be able to communicate with colleagues who have attended our seminars and hear their stories. Our communication chalkboard is secure and password protected and is open to only those who have participated in our seminars. ADSE will provide you with guided insight as to how to access and master this virtual mode of communication, and we eager to continue dialoguing with us.
